The Loss of Loved Ones
The loss of loved ones,
as they
disappear from your tree/
Who are we?
Just who are we?
Caught in drifting thought clouds,
and the ones we made
on a day
when the bell told us
it was time for indoor play.
And that felt like a good idea
when the rain tumbled down,
and people disappeared from our trees.
Loved ones,
the people we used to see,
the loss of loved ones,
ingrained into the rings of you and me.
