lest we forget
we have hardly remembered
is it any wonder
when the people
who wear a poppy
and give us,
their version of history
vote for the right or far right
and all those right wing ‘politicians’
delicious, isn’t it?
to know millions died
so an entitled bunch of idiots
and an ex banker
who longs to be part of the ‘establishment’
are the people they they worship
lest we forget
actually,
it seems no one could care less
busy self injecting
the rancid ignorance of brexit
and busy forgetting,
how we once pushed back tyrants
what did those,
slaughtered on french beaches die for
what did,
their machine gun riddled bodies
decay for?
this? this modern day?
where you have to explain compassion,
empathy and why we should care for one another?
