Headstrong
headstrong as they are
without compromise,
you never travel far
and i am here,
whether truthful or blind
because it is me who has stepped in –
to place my neck on the line
i have volunteered
and others have not
and i have pushed myself –
so far out of my comfort zone
that is was hard
to find my way back home
headstrong as they are
i have pushed myself so far
i can be headstrong
i can take agendas
and force them along
