One Day As a Diamond
spending a day with someone special
cooking the dinner
whilst you are cooking feelings
clinging onto your teenage ideals
that is when i begin to kneel
at least, that is how it feels
spending a day with a piece of your life
all the trouble and all the strife
being just the best you can
somehow taking it all in
and expected to come up with answers
but answers do not come easily
not to the lost and the confused
although hurt comes easily
to the used and abused
going for walks, but in circles
somehow missing that irony
the town still stretches on
but today you do not appreciate it
you have already left, you are gone
spending a day with someone special
it is good and it feels warm inside
one day as a diamond
is better than many that never shine
