Be An Activist – Tuesday 1st October 2019

Be An Activist

be an activist
whilst you have your chance
tear down billboards
whilst you can still dance
those powerful people
are busy fleecing the world
so be an activist
whilst you can
forget those crazy held plans
fight for the change
that may never come around again
in my years,
fermented with alcohol
and unknown strands
i could have believed more
maybe realised new labour
were closing rather than opening the door
be an activist,
with a sense of self
that reminds everyone else
that truth is a personal identity we own
it is not too late
when speaking truth to power
push back those voices of hate
remember it is all quite fleeting
make the stands
as your young heart is beating
be an activist
