I Should Have Never Asked
cannot be hard on you
i should have never asked you to move away
i thought with love,
well, it would be enough
that would be strong together
no matter what the weather
i should have known
that this was not the case
you have done so well
and i am so proud of you
i really am
but your dependance
on the family you left behind
well, not having one of my own
i just did not appreciate that
cannot be hard on you
when i laid on the bed
all that time ago
and asked you to move in with me
i should have never asked you
it was too much
the safety net was not as strong as i thought
it was only made of love…
