Lay Down Smiling
you lay down smiling
life can be… so surprising
here i am arriving
on magic carpets bought in bulk
telling life’s sweet and strange joke
on the wind, able to mend
opinions can be so strong
sometimes they do not win you friends
sometimes they do not make amends
you lay down smiling
on a freshly made bed for one
we live so far apart,
even if we do share the same sun
here i am thinking,
through the rain and its rainbows
here i am sitting
wanting to be close
you are the one that i have never met
yet… you are the one i miss the most
