Met a New Friend
met a new friend, unknown hands
never touched, faces miles apart
but strangely, i am drawn to her play
i will play understudy to her main part
a state of emotion,
mingles with confusion
and i do not believe in magic
life is not the greatest illusion
met a new friend
found me in the dustbin
and she dusted me down
she gave me a worded crown
a halo of writing,
that seems so exciting
i am drawn to her stage
with feelings we readily trade
in these strange, strange days
