House of Love
so my mental health came up to me
and suggested
hey, let’s take a walk
and my wellbeing which –
which sometimes struggles –
with darker thoughts
said,
remember you will always be caught
and in those darker shadows
i realised that is a lesson i need to be taught
my dogged determination
stops me,
and you know what
it also wanted to talk
it started to suggest that my ambition
needs to be taught
and that it is out of control
and it does not –
have my best interests at heart
it is like a demon mechanic –
who has taken my internal vehicle apart
so my resilience
found me,
when i was just there, sitting on my own
it said, hey, look up,
remember the value of your home
it is not the floor or the windows,
or even the roof above
just remember,
it is deeply filled with love
and for others,
you are always enough
and i realised that is how i live
i do, i live in such a house of love
