Tradition
so this country
wants a king and queen after all
this country needs to pull its socks up
our dignity, for too long, has been in freefall
so this country
wants to celebrate its past
i would like to hear all the village bells ring out
and i would like to hear a chorus of, ‘at long last’
so the mood of the nation
is looking to change this situation
of a country too scared to be proud
where others have flags door to door
we seem to scared to speak aloud
let’s celebrate the past
and hope it lasts
so this country
wants a king and queen after all
let’s look forwards and make changes
let’s make our own rules
