She Watched Over Me – Written Wednesday 26th August 2020 (Aged 45)

She Watched Over Me

i saw her leaning over
and i wondered,
what was she thinking?
being asked to do something
that they took away from me
she observes
and she looks
like the mother who watches –
over her brood
i wonder what aspects –
informed their point of view

i saw her looking over
and i wanted to know
what does she really think
skating again on the brink
and being asked to do things
that they had once used as a weapon –
to hit me with
with her gifts, what would she give
we all need to watch out for each other
just to help each other live
