What About Me?
what about me
how am i?
i have dived into –
the pools of my eyes
when i sleep –
in a line,
i remove the hands from my face
and i dare to peep
how am i?
i am the travelling salesman
happy to be home
i am a bit part player
happy in my name
and i am happy
just to be in your arms
when i am half asleep
and the nighttime has us to itself
these days
i ask the grandmaster for a toll
for they offer me no release
yet i notice –
some still follow their beat
how am i?
i am fragile –
but compelled by notions of resilience
i am the creative whirlpool
with lapsed sparks of brilliance
