Nourish Our Days
somewhere we have confused
experience and achievement
we think –
aspiration and achievement
makes our lives so grand
but it is in fact,
experiences,
that teaches us to understand
we thought it was a race
university, work,
find your wedding face
by a house
keep up the chase
but all things come to pass
and all things leave so many sad
heavy,
and when the pain is so dense
life is not our materialistic gains
it is the experience
and people can mention failure
but that has always been subjective
ever since it danced with feelings
that felt rejected
it is the experience
and not the tick box survey
which will nourish our days
