The Bendy Rivers of England
the bendy rivers of england
flow to their bitter ends
no charlatan,
ever has an ear to lend
clairvoyants,
go into liquidation
under this death knell sky
how many more times
must they lie
before the penned sheep
see their votes die
lick your lips,
merry highway men
and greedy high street barons
i see your wicked hunts
and your devil like talons
we must wait now
until the waves find our shore
for doggerland,
to be exposed just once more
no bridge to mainland europe
and the tunnel is just a sore
what soothsayers,
partook in this wicked scheme
we run fast from those bendy rivers
back to where once, hope started as a stream
