Bitter and Twisted – Written Monday 21st November 1994 (Aged 19)

Bitter and Twisted

i do not have any faith
i do not know what i am meant to believe in
i have never been encouraged
not by the world around me
which is always putting people down
look around, go on look around
i want to write a book
that in years to come
my children could take off the shelf
i want them to take a look
i would like to call the book, ‘liking myself’
it would not be a work of fiction
it would be absolutely true
but i have found that it is the hardest thing to do
and it is something
at which a lot of people never succeed
bitter and twisted, they always bleed
their vision is missed, their heads are full
and infested with evil
but it is these people who make it
right to the top
because the people of any worth
they stop and let them pass
but these are the people who are worth something
but in life, these who do deserve something
rarely get anything
