Misfit
We are misfits,
people rejected by the norm,
weirdoes,
from the day we were born.
People who may never go far,
but we are here; we are near.
Misfits are what we are
in the way we think,
the things that we do.
Misfits, people like me and you.
We are the people
who grew up in fear.
Some of us tell stories,
and some of us are weird.
Misfits and all the best bits;
that is what we are:
people who may never go far,
but people who dream.
Some of us don’t,
some of us do want to fit in—
misfits like me and you.
We are always on trial,
perhaps for things we have not done.
Misfits, but then, we are only young.
