A Stopping Place
people move in and out
your life,
is just a stopping place
they hold your ego
and stroke your face
the love,
they once did proclaim
turns to one side
and it cries out in pain
one you break a spell
it can never be the same
people move in and out
your life,
something of a novelty train
one with circus acts
that vie for personal fame
you on a spinning wheel
as they throw knives of blame
and the love,
they did one proclaim
leaves dizzy and confused
never to return again
wondering why it came
