With Her Arms Around Me – Written Friday 26th September 2008 (Aged 33)

With Her Arms Around Me

dependency on another
it has struck me
and i realise –
that if i should lose this person
it will be difficult
so i try to stand up
and find my own two feet
but with her arms around me
and legs so tightly wrapped
dependency beckons
and there is no going back

the battle is only ever between –
those clashing areas of your being
insecurity is our lord
and we, just its helpless slaves
if only to feel warm and secure
there is much i guess we would trade
dependency on another
when they dissolve the headache
and clear away the shadows
it is hard not to give in
so turn a page
this is where the next chapter begins
