Life is So Fickle
i do not need to forgive
just learn to turn off these feelings
try to discount,
their obvious meaning
i admit,
friendship has an appeal
but it may take some time to locate the switch
the one that turns off how i feel
i am angry,
but the anger is a trickle
it is a lament for my feelings
and a reminder that life is so fickle
i do not need to forgive
just repair,
what has broken and come apart
it is time to face a different future
and gather up the pieces of our past
