Last Night – Written March 1994 (Aged 19)

Last Night

last night was weird
i had troubles on my mind
thinking, she is not going to work
she smiles like the falsest kind
but everything was good
my friends were around me
and then, you were there
i had not seen you for three weeks
and i remembered how much you cared
but seeing you left me unable to speak
as i caught, with some boldness
your stare
she was forgotten
and i remembered only you
i wish i could see you more often
we kissed and danced again
but i left at the end
with a tear in my eye and too much pain
last night,
i wasn’t sure if i was still your friend
i hope i am,
even though last night was weird
i just wish i could understand
and she has gone, it ended on friday
now it is sunday, the day after last night
and just seeing you
made my life seem alright
