Think For Yourself – Written Monday 20th February 1995 (Aged 19)

Think For Yourself

i liked your clothes, I liked your hair
i liked to spend my money on you
but I do not like it,
when you are not there
what are we going to do
i am left in the wastelands of time
i have got so much to say
and now, we are not so fine
i would like to take myself away
and take all this to another place
i liked your music
i loved your pretty face
i love your kisses
even this stale cigarette taste
but the kisses have been replaced –
by bad visions
of a girl who did not know her own mind
someone who could not think for herself
someone who did not seem so generous
someone who could not think for herself
someone who could not think on their own
someone who never really had it true
think for yourself,
that is all I wouldn’t say to you
think for yourself, it is all you can do
