Remote Island
have they become that thing
that psychologists say cannot exist
a remote island,
surrounded by mist
are you cold to him
does he hope for climate change
does he hope –
for the relationship to be warmer
for there to be less pain?
you may claim disability
and cite that as the reasons why
that is just liability –
the truth is you never try
so where are you now
screaming at the world that you are right
a remote island,
that longs for the warmth of sunlight
