As a Child I Dreamt of Steam Trains
i ran through a meadow
and as a child –
i dreamt of steam trains
and then, for a while
all was calm again
i ran through a rage
one that almost swallowed me
left lanterns hanging
left lights shining
left thoughts dangling
i am changing in so many ways
the dull ache
of those distant days
is starting to retreat
and fade away
as i run through the lives –
of others near me
i see them, and i hear the real me
