The Old House – Written November 2002 (Aged 27)

The Old House

back to the old house
with its new white door
i know it was sometime ago
but it was not like that before
at least the windows no longer leer
and it no longer clawed,
but it was some time ago
when life felt so fatally flawed
i am back again,
to the old house
but now it is much later
and memories are simply an occasional sea
one that i swim in
back to the old house
the place that means everything and nothing
with that kind of summarisation
so i guess, it must mean something
back to the old house
