Nurture – Written Thursday 14th September 2010 (Aged 35)

Nurture

how can you label a child –
ill or abnormal
surely they will come to believe it
but in reality,
what they need is nurture
and to be cared for
to be held and told they are loved
to be enthused with confidence
a child should not –
be told in a negative way –
that they are different
because i remember the moment –
in my own childhood
when that happened
it resulted in an enforced independence
the push to the outside
when all you want is to feel is loved –
wanted and just so accepted
just saying a child is ill or abnormal
it appears as if they are being rejected
