If You Are Lonely
if you are lonely –
i would rather you have another drink
than choose to use me
i can only be pushed so far
there are boundaries to my sanity
i know,
you tell me how you feel
and how hard it is for you
how you are suffering
how no one understands you
you, you, you –
that is all i hear
you claim to be creative
but i do not believe that you see
how do you think i felt
have you ever considered me
if you are now thinking of me
just because i slammed that phone down
then perhaps i achieved something
i don’t want to stick around
just so i can be used by you
if you are lonely and you’ve started crying
don’t use me –
as something, just to stop the bleeding
i have been through the mill
if only you knew how i was truly feeling
so this is it, lie down and lick your wounds
it is over, you have blown it, i am leaving
