Under Sensitive?

lots of things affect and hurt me
and over the years –
i have allowed people –
to get away with it
i gave them a free pass
and said, i know, i am over sensitive
but do you see what happens there?
i take on the responsibility
when the responsibility is not mine
it is for others –
to think about the words they use
and how they take their time
why should i apologise –
for the way things affect me?
maybe people –
need to think about what they say –
and the impact their words have
my sensitivity is not a weakness
nor is it an excuse or a means
for people to say harmful things
okay, maybe i am not over sensitive
maybe others are at fault
maybe they are in fact, under sensitive?
