Only You Did That

you are so beautiful
and as we went to bed
guilt did not wrap its arms around me
only you did that
shame did not hold me with its legs
only you did that
that stolen time
and how you stole my heart
how you interrupted my mind
it’s so sublime,
but i know that i can never be yours
your beauty is devastating
it kicked down closed doors
you are so beautiful
