I Was Fine

i was fine
just biding my time
knitting myself a future
out of time

i was fine
at the fate
i had my thoughts
that could not be late

i was fine
crawling through the grass
when a person stopped
they had to ask

i was fine
just biding my time
knitting myself a future
on the ladders which we climb
