Fade
you had my love, you had it there
i walked in the garden
telling you how much i care
you cried at christmas
and you said that we would leave you
we always tried to reassure you
but you would say,
i don’t believe you
you had my friendship, my secrets too
you had my thoughts
but it was never enough for you
and it did not answer the question
of why a father left
so i wore his image and danced like him
i climbed into the cage
and it all made you feel much better
your hopes suddenly raised
but i am not him and when i did not play
the image quickly started to fade
