Noble and Trusty Steed – Written January 2007 (Aged 31)

Noble and Trusty Steed

you make out you are strong
that you will face –
whatever comes your way
and whatever –
follows in its wake
yet you are meek and mild
with a body that quakes
and sometimes you act like a child
one clinging to the fake
someone with a lopsided smile
someone with a weakness for fate
you make out, ‘truth’
is your noble and trusty steed
and that honesty is your sword
but, that’s simply not the case
i see that truth written across your face
