Butterfly
did you see me
and did you feel
i went by –
but you did not catch me
and i don’t know why
i can only try
did you reel me in
did you even try
i was concentrating on the foreground
you was always sketching the sky
did i spend you too soon
put you out of reach –
or into a cocoon
i i did –
i just don’t know why
thoughts and feelings may be unresolved
but you’re a beautiful butterfly
