Soul Food

how long,
did it carry on?
how many times –
did you imagination roam?
i wonder,
when did you go home?
was it all so much
that in the end,
you just felt alone
i know that deep down
you heart was not in it
of course,
i had seen –
and i had caught glimpses
of those times when it was plain
that you were not –
eating the soul food
the sort you really craved
the soul food,
you hungered after
