speak truth to power
has gone silent
it has lost its voice
as a society, as a group
we have given up our choice
suddenly,
we snuggle up to authority
and enjoy,
being told what to do
speak truth to power
no longer wants to choose
it has lost its voice
and as a society, as a group
we have given up on choice
when did this come to pass
a brand-new king looks down on us
and we do not even pause to ask
