Hurt A Little Less

i would like you to wipe away the tears –
from your rosy cheeks
i would like you to hurt a little less
you were born with a broom in your hand
clearing up other peoples mess
you are a smile in his midnight dream
he tells me you are a special human being
i would like you to do more than mine did
i would like you yo take his heart
and i would like you put in your museum
i would like you to break the chain
after all, we cannot keep losing
i would like you to know that it’s you he has chosen
i would like you to wake up his smile
it will be the only sunshine that you will ever need
you are pretty and your words are very fine
in him, in him you just need to believe
