Had Somebody Told Me
had somebody told me
the path that this life has led
i may have abandoned the garden path
and hid in the garden shed
had somebody told me
i would never have believed what they said
and the sum of my experience
the sum of my years,
i wash it down with laughter
and the sad taste of tears
but still i stand,
and if you have a question about my anger
i am sorry, but i do not understand
please just ignore it
and please just hold my hand
had somebody told me
that at this point this is where i would be
i would have never believed them
i would have waded into the sea
