Remembering You
i remember when you were sixteen
and me,
barely out of my teens
those days…
no career worries
just the colour of our jeans
such idle cares
just enough money to drink
and concerned about the style of our hair
look now,
look how far we have both come
from crowded rooms
to the comfort of our own homes
but then,
i knew all those years ago
that you were different to the rest
i am glad that i wasn’t wrong
and i am glad that i still have your respect
and that you have found someone
a person which for you, you belong
