Telephone
today, you talked to me on the telephone
and it made me smile
it made me feel less alone
lights danced outside
and we laughed at something someone said
i made you laugh
and i felt i had almost reached inside
to find those parts
that had been hurt once before
the parts you stored in a room
one which has a locked door
and we laughed together
it felt as real as the smile
and for a while i was happy
conversation shone bright like your smile
for a while we are chatting on the telephone
it took me into something warm
and for those moments, i felt less alone
