New Friends (New Places to Go) – Written January 2014 (Aged 38)

New Friends (New Places to Go)

i have found new friends
and new places to go
and although trust is there,
i know,
it has a long way to go
anxiety disorder,
let go of me
home is subjective –
the greater the good
the greater the objective
i found a world
which i never knew
and never knew existed
complicated as we are,
by bands around our past
complicated as we are,
by the leanings of our now
i have lived here and there
explored home towns
and planted personal flags
but as we move around
packing up our memory bags
we start to redefine
what it means to be home
