When You Are Young
when you are young it is easy
easier to live by your heart
easier to live by unknown maps
live by the routes set out
because when you are young
everything is new,
in every situation
you can embrace every experience
and wonder about the destination
age brings with it a sense of perception
or it brings regrets,
and if not regrets thoughts about directions
remember though,
choices do not get lost,
they just come back from the dead
like a debt collector reminding you of the cost
but we cannot live forever
by the rules of our heart
life deals out its lessons
like the sun eagerly clears the weather
