Cracks
i can see the cracks
before it starts
i see the machine
but criticise its broken parts
i see the connection
but lament the broken heart
age has given me experience
which in turn,
has given cynicism
which has given me a weariness
i can see the cracks
like footprints,
in freshly fallen snow
like suddenly we are here
then we part and we have to go
