Do I Cradle The Baby?
do i cradle the baby
or do i place it back in the cot?
do i surrogate as a parent
do i guess its maturity
in terms of years and experience
in reality is is a baby at all?
do i cradle the baby
or do i place it back in the cot?
do i reach out and adopt
is adoption the right word at all
i look and the baby smiles at me
and it grabs my hand
then when i hold it tight
i begin to understand
on a threshold they stand
between childhood and adulthood
do i cradle the baby
or do i place it back in the cot?
