Heavy Rain – Written Saturday 28th June 2008 (Aged 33)

Heavy Rain

i am not your problems
not the source
of the tears
that run their course
like a river
falling with the heavy rain
i am not the counter to the shiver
or the transference of their pain
nor do i account for those who fail to deliver
i am not part of their new plans
turn over my hands and look at my palms
i have lines, deep like the sand
i cannot advocate
for the past
hold council to find a solution
the solution to a pain
that courses like a river
and falls like their heavy rain
