Just Because – Written Friday 28th January 2005 (Aged 29)

Just Because

it’s true –
i can be washed up on a distant shore
and if genius really does exist
then all i ever did was stand back
as it jumped ship

it’s true –
i am not perfect
but i roll with the flaws
just because you do not have a key
it does not mean that you cannot open doors

it’s true –
to find someone’s heart
you have to know the way
or at least be prepared to learn
self assumptions and arrogance
will just make you take the wrong turns
it’s a shame that you are the way you are
it is evident that you have done nothing wrong
but it’s evident that as you are –
that will not take you very far
