Standing in Line (originally untitled) – March 1998

Standing in Line

I was standing in line
with my conception
I just cannot go on with the dream anymore
I cannot excuse my behaviour
people who used to be there
have already crucified me
the intelligence they chose not to show
I went to a shop on the corner
I did not get the smile my friend did
and when we went out,
we just did not get in
left waiting outside after hours
she comes out with a man
I guess he will not be getting her flowers
I guess we just have to understand
I was in the street
with my bag and walk
as she drove by very fast
I wondered if she wanted to talk
she is going to go home
and I am not going to be there
