The Stolen Glance – March 2011

The Stolen Glance

you fall for –
the touch of the arm
that suggests closeness
is sought
you fall for –
the person –
who secretly –
you are so smitten
the poem
not yet written
but they –
will be the next one
you fall for –
the stolen glance
the breathtaking moments
of chance
will they feel the same
will they agree to see you
and no matter how old you get
despite the baggage
and the clutter
you still fall –
and the heart still flutters
