Conception to Deception – Wednesday 4th December 1996

Conception to Deception

nine months of paradise
that is the only paradise
i seem to have known
as a fetus always growing
nine months of paradise
in the motherly gloom
nine months i spent in the womb
getting used to life
there i was,
nine months of paradise
happily shifting about
no one to bother me
all warm and snug
as warm as hands,
in the warmest gloves
nine months of paradise
from conception to deception
i got made
but not easily displayed
then i was bare,
suddenly here and not there
what a sight, life
nine months of paradise
conception to deception
and you had better believe it
