The Light – December 1996

The Light

i shone bright light
in the drizzle of the rain
that tapped lightly
and then suddenly trickled away
crossing over to the other side
dry as the pace of life
i crawled affectionately
to the bed in which i awoke
no one told me who had arrived
as a i disappeared into the atmosphere
it all too suddenly died
thoughts criss crossed my eyes
like the light i shone bright
as bright as i could be
so i remembered dimly
in the cautious nature that i was in
i shone bright light
just to begin
