Once In a Lifetime – Written Tuesday 17th December 2019 (Aged 44)

Once In a Lifetime

they feel the loss
and not the gain
once in a lifetime opportunity
for change
romances us
then flies off again
we were close
but still not there
and no matter what the spin
it is hard to pick up,
and once more begin
it was a hard sell
when the media
has no truth to tell
when it serves to serve itself
power seeks to confirm power
and ensure it is kept
we all feel the loss
knowing what is to come
i remember the political landscape
when i was young
keep on believing
keep on holding
