Four Jugfuls of My Dreams (Originally Untitled) – Written November 2010 (Aged 35)

Four Jugfuls of My Dreams

my subscription fee-
has cost me
two bucket loads –
of my self esteem
and four jugfuls –
of my dreams
i could be wrong
but in this fight
i have looked for a referee
because i am right
my subscription fee –
has being more –
than bank account expense
these ladies dance
and steal my sense
they seem short of change
count them out in pence
who is to blame?
my subscription fee
is a cold dark –
glass of milk
i slip precariously –
on the thoughts i have built

James Garratt – November 2010
